Pedestrian crossing over Admiral Gago Countinho Avenue

Lisboa - portugal

Câmara Municipal de Lisboa / EMEL

The architectural concept of this viaduct, designed by the architect Antº Mª Braga, aims to establish the continuity of the municipal ecological structure, interconnecting the various green corridors that intersect at that point, integrated into the main green structure of the city and the network of pedestrian and clickable paths, through a naturalized overpass with vegetal treatment of the upper platform with trees, vines and shrubs. The work consists of a crossing with a total length of 104.80m distributed in three spans, with a central span of 41.90m over Av. Alm Gago Coutinho and end spans of 16.0m each. The reinforced concrete deck consists of two 1.0m wide side beams, connected at the bottom by an earth containment slab of the central pit of the deck, which allows accommodating the land necessary for planting the tree species of the green spaces on the viaduct deck.
